Meet some of their breath taking giant puppets and carnival sculptures, try on transformative carnival costumes and get the chance to wear them as you “get your groove on” and move to the music.

Walkabout entertainment, Giant Puppets & Hireable Parade Items - Step into our world of giant puppets and meet some extraordinary and larger than life characters. Our collection of 12ft tall puppets and other creatures delight audiences everywhere.
Humber The Hun
Humber the Hun is a giant 12 foot puppet, who once fought the king of England in the 8th century and was drowned in the river Humber (hence that’s how the estuary got its name). He runs a mock, attempting to scare (as all Vikings do!), he shakes hands with people, waves and poses for photos as well as dancing along with a parade.
Phil The Goby Fish
Phil the Goby Fish Lantern Puppet was created for Floodlights Parade in 2021. The tiny Goby Fish are one of the most common fish to the Humber Estuary.
The Gipsyville Floodlights Parade was originally commissioned by Absolutely Cultured , and was co Created by Hull Carnival Arts & Andy Pea Artist. LED tech by Ian Mitchell .
Dave The Dead
"Dave" - The Day of the Dead skeleton lantern is a giant puppet measuring 10ft in height, and he has over 1600 LED illuminating his boney body, perfect for outdoor lantern parades and light nights. He shakes, rattles, and roles about to the accompanying spooky music provided by his ‘minder’s’ wind up music box, or he can perform with Bandanarama in a parade or procession.
Pop up Parade
Join the team from Hull Carnival Arts on a series of short, fun and accessible pop-up parade experiences around your festival or event site. Meet some of their breath taking giant puppets and carnival sculptures, try on carnival costumes and get the chance to wear them as you dance and groove round the parade route to the funky music!
Carnival Troupe
"From the depths of the deepest ocean we bring you monsters, mermaids, fabulous fish and many other creatures from the deep blue sea."
There's Something in the Water, is our Signature Carnival Troupe that can be hired for carnivals and festival events (Volunteer sign up in advance of the event to animate this transformative costume collection)
